System Requirements:
Platform: iOS only.
Performance: Update your iPhone operating system to the latest available version for best stability. ReadSpeed works fully offline. No internet connection is required for any core functions. All training data is stored locally on your device via SwiftData.
Minimum OS version: iOS 16.0 or higher.
Frequently Asked Questions:
The app crashes or becomes unresponsive:
Close background applications to free device memory.
Confirm your iPhone runs iOS 16.0 or newer.
Restart your iPhone to clear temporary system cache.
If issues remain, uninstall and reinstall ReadSpeed. Warning: local training records will be erased upon deletion, please back up important data manually before removing the app.
My training history or statistics disappear after restarting the app:
Do not offload the app in iPhone Settings, offloading may damage local SwiftData storage.
Ensure you have not cleared app data inside iOS storage settings.
Avoid force‑quitting the app while a reading‑training session is actively saving results.
Pasted English text imports incorrectly or word count looks wrong:
Extra line breaks, heavy punctuation or mixed non‑English characters may affect word‑count parsing. Remove stray symbols and extra blank lines before pasting.
The parser works best with clean plain‑text English passages. Rich‑text formatted clipboard content may produce unexpected results; use plain text when possible.
WPM or accuracy calculation seems inaccurate:
Confirm you tap End only after finishing your reading. Timing stops exactly when you press End.
WPM follows standard academic formula: total parsed words divided by reading time in minutes.
Make sure you complete the comprehension quiz fully before saving the training record.
Charts / trend graphs show incomplete data:
Trend charts only display finished, successfully‑saved reading sessions. Unfinished abandoned sessions will not be recorded.
7‑day and 30‑day ranges filter existing local records according to your device system date.
How do I delete my local training data?
Open Settings inside ReadSpeed. Use the built‑in clear‑records function. All data deletion is performed locally on‑device. Deleted records cannot be recovered.
